The Cook Hospital and C&NC
Unit is a 14 bed, acute care,
Critical Access hospital with a fully staffed emergency room open 24 hours a
day, seven days a week serving a 2500 square mile region of wilderness and
recreational territory. The C&NC unit is a 33-bed skilled nursing facility
with 24-hour professional nursing coverage.

The Brigade is dedicated to fire, search and rescue and emergency medical situations. It is operated by volunteers and managed under the governance of a Board of Directors who are made up of residents from the Lake Vermilion and Cook area.
